SPECIAL EFFECTS-ARE COMPUTER IMAGES TURNING MOVIES INTO EXPENSIVE CARTOONS?

Because this is 2009, I really expected science fiction movie special effects to have taken a giant leap forward from the mid-1950s Godzilla era. Instead, movies have been turned into giant cartoons with really bad plots.

Worse yet, these limitations aren’t offset by spectacular advances in movie magic. In fact, you could argue that the guy in the rubber Godzilla suit back in 1954 had more commitment to his game than an army of computer nerds in today’s movie industry.

I blame video games.

Chevy Chase is currently on a half hour comedy called Community in which he plays an aging student at a community college. He is a supporting character in this show, but he is one of the best reasons to watch this program. The bar is set pretty low in this show.

Over 33 million people have seen this video of a couple that got married this past summer. I never heard of it until I watched an episode of The Office in which Pam and Jim got married amidst an atmosphere of chaos that included a segment in a church with their version of the JK wedding ceremony.

Probably only five or six people on earth have yet to see the original JK wedding ceremony which is basically a very funny entrance to a wedding ceremony by the entire wedding party. They performed a series of “white people dancing” moves down the aisle prior to the actual wedding vow exchange at the altar and livened up a very formal and inherently dull occasion.

The longer the time that you spend on earth, the more weddings you will have to attend. This fact makes wedding analysts out of anybody who has attended more than a handful of them.
