Car guys are like little kids waiting for Christmas to arrive because the wait is long and painful for kids and Santa Claus or car guys and car show season.

The difference is that Christmas always comes on December 25th. Car show season is a lot less defined because it starts somewhere between April and June depending on whether you live in Yellowknife, Yukon Territory or Mobile, Alabama.

The car show season literally never ends because there are places like Hawaii, California, Arizona, Florida and Australia.

That's great if you live in places like that but most car guys look at April as the kick-off to the season because a '36 Chevy with a big block has a serious traction issue on dry pavement.

Southerners are kicking off the their car show season right now and some in California or Florida never really had an off season.

Those of us in less balmy climates simply have pictures from last year to remind us just how cool these shows are for spectators and participants.

Dennis Halpin is a long time MSCC reader and self-admitted Florida car guy with a passion for the old iron.

He thought it might be a good idea to give northern car guys a little ray of Florida sunshine so he took his camera to the weekly car show.
