The Barrett-Jackson Scottsdale Auction is like an oasis in the middle of a winter desert for car guys. Love it or hate it, the big show puts the car hobby on prime time TV.
The show itself is a guilty pleasure for fans of the old car hobby because nobody wants to admit that they just spent 11 hours straight watching old iron cross the auction block on TV.

In January a car show is far more of a concept than a reality in much of North America.
MyStarCollectorCar puts together a car show calendar every year and so far areas like Minnesota or Alberta don't show up much in the 'outdoor show in January' category.
That doesn't matter.
What does matter is the prospect of a car show when the weather gets better. Here are some pictures from past shows just to keep the inner car guy warm in all of us.

Linus gets stiffed yet again by The Great Pumpkin at Halloween and car season officially ends in climates that don't have cities that have names that begin with "Los" and end with "Angeles".
In Canada November has the National Drunk/Grey Cup football game and the United States has Thanksgiving, but car shows disappear faster than drinks at an open wedding bar
That's enough to stimulate a whopping case of SAD (Seasonal Affective Disorder) because the days get short and the nights get longer than the backside of a Moody Blues album.
Here's one cure-it's more like a Band Aid because nothing really cures the "No Car Show Blues" but here are a few shots from car shows past...

OCTOBER 2011 STARS OF THE SHOW-SEASON OF THE WITCH...END OF THE SEASON
Most northern latitudes don't host many car shows past Halloween-with all due respect to Florida, California or Australia.
Once the Season of the Witch is over so is the car show season, but here are some shots taken late in the year before the snow flew.
The legendary Van Morrison phrased it best with the lines:"it's a marvelous time for a Moondance under the color of October skies".
He must have been at one of these late season car shows...
