Stars in Traffic

AUGUST 2010 "STARS IN TRAFFIC" HOT CARS, HOT WEATHER

These are the "dog days" of summer-the point where the thermometer explodes out the top. You see a lot of old iron on the streets in August but what most non-car people don't know is that this heat is really tough on the vintage vehicles.

Old cars and trucks hate it when the daytime readings get over 85 degrees and the traffic is stop and go so they'll quit...

That's why we salute these road warriors for being August 2010 "Traffic Stars".

JULY 2010 STARS IN TRAFFIC-DRIVE 'EM DON'T TRAILER 'EM

One of the saddest sights in the old car world is a guy putting his old classic car inside a covered trailer and towing it to a show.

What's the point?

Why not build a climate controlled museum for your car if that's the best you can do?

We salute the owners of these classics because they are putting their rides in real traffic-not driving them 10 feet to unload them from an air ride trailer.

That's not a real car guy philosophy-that's a stamp collector's attitude...

Suddenly the streets of the world are a lot better place.

APRIL 2010 STARS IN TRAFFIC-REAL WORLD LIFE IN THE FAST LANE

april 10 imgp5715The old cars aren't really made for  2010-too many guys think that a 64 Chrysler can stop like a brand new Honda Civic.

That's a tragic error that can jeopardize a classic car's future-not from old car driver error because most car guys know the limitations of the old iron.It comes from idiots who have no idea how hard it is to haul down a stock 40s sedan so they'll cut these cars off with impunity-until the day that a 40s era bumper (complete with attached car) ends up in the back seat of their minivan.

That's why we salute these Stars in Traffic.
