DECEMBER 2009-1954 DODGE:THE TRUCK IN A BOX THAT CAME WITHOUT INSTRUCTIONS
One of the mortal enemies of a restoration is the guy who brings out a toolbox and dismantles a vehicle with absolutely no game plan about the project. These guys dive into a vehicle and undo something that took a herd of engineers and an assembly plant team a fair amount of time to complete from drawing board to a drive out the factory exit doors.
Many idiots have managed to disassemble vehicles in a relatively short period of time but they are way over their heads in the reassembly phase. So many parts- so few IQ points.
Eventually the scattered mess is thrown haphazardly into boxes and the next owner is left to put together a big puzzle without all of the pieces.

STAR TRUCKIN’ :1948 CHEVROLET PICKUP-WITH SOME BO-TOX INJECTIONS
Noel Bower is a handy guy with the tools. In fact, he may even be a plastic surgeon for old collector vehicles. He took a senior citizen 1948 Chevrolet ½ ton and made it young and attractive again. Actually it is better than new because Noel sculpted in a brand new look for this Chevy truck when he added a 1998 Chevrolet fleet-side box to the old dog.
The tricky part was Noel’s desire to make the lines blend with 40 years of age difference between the cab and the box. Noel had seen other custom trucks done with this combination and saw the contour and flow problems between the two components.
It was a little like a 40 year age difference when an old guy dates a young babe in that it really doesn’t look right.

1963 CHEVROLET VIKING 60 CABOVER-MILK TRUCK THAT BECAME A FARM HAND
These trucks are not vehicles that you’ll see in everyday 21st century life. This era of Chevy cab over was pretty rare even in 1963, so the odds are that survivors such as this one are very slim. Much slimmer than its svelte, more popular cousin-the 63 Sting Ray.This truck started life like virtually every commercial vehicle on the face of the earth-working without a break.
In this case, the Viking was part of a fleet of refrigerator trucks for a milk company. It did that job remarkably well until it was sold to a guy who liked hunting-this truck made huge sense for hanging meat on a hook after a hunt.
Organized crime has known that for decades.

In 1966 the pickup truck wars were alive and well and Ford was in the middle of the battle. Trucks were primarily purchased for work in 1966, unlike today when a truck doubles as a family limo in the everyday world.
Even then, you had upscale models and in 66 the top end Ford carried a Ranger interior package as an option-Dennis always liked this era of F-150 and when he found this low mileage example, the sale was done in a heartbeat.
1952 FORD JEEP M-38-THE KOREAN WAR VET THAT MADE LIFE EASIER FOR CANADIAN SOLDIERS
Lee Stronach has two hobbies-he’s a military history buff and he’s a vintage vehicle guy. This particular Jeep was built under contract by Ford for the Canadian military-that makes it an incredibly rare piece of military history.
