APRIL 2013:A FATHER AND TWO SONS BOND WITH A '56 CHEVY TRUCK PROJECT
Kip Rogers bought his very rusty old 1956 Chevrolet 1300 pickup truck for 200 dollars back in 1976. The truck became priceless along the way to its restoration because Kip got to spend time with his two sons during the project.
Initially the truck was a working stiff because Kip used the truck for yard work around his house. He became attached to the Chevy over the years and decided to restore the truck.
He took a long road trip to buy parts in Independence Mo. for the truck and it was game-on for the restoration.
APRIL 2013 A 1936 CUSTOM CHEVY TRUCK IS A FATHER'S DAY GIFT THAT KEEPS ON GIVING
Terry Kumm has a very understanding wife who really knows that her husband is an incurable car guy.
She thought that he needed a project, so she gave him a 1936 Chevrolet pickup truck for a Father's Day gift many years ago and let him put his own custom stamp on the project.
APRIL 2013 A 1951 CHEVROLET 'MAPLE LEAF' 3 TON TRUCK GETS OFF THE FARM FOR A SHOW
We spotted this 1951 heavy Chevy truck at a mid-August show last summer and made sure we tracked down its owner because this baby looked like a working truck on a rare break from hard labor.
The truck was not pampered by any stretch of the imagination and its owner was a friendly farmer by the name of Mark Westling who was also on a little break from the farm that night.
Mark explained that he brought the truck to a show so that he "could get out of the house and not get beat" in his words.
We learned very quickly that Mark had a very well-developed sense of humor.
APRIL 2013 STARS OF THE SHOW: THE CURTAIN COMES UP ON ANOTHER GLORIOUS CAR SHOW SEASON
The car show season literally never ends because there are places like Hawaii, California, Arizona, Florida and Australia.
That's great if you live in places like that but most car guys look at April as the kick-off to the season because a '36 Chevy with a big block has a serious traction issue on dry pavement.
APRIL 2013 STARS IN TRAFFIC: A RITE OF SPRING FOR CAR GUYS-STYLE MAKES A COMEBACK
Something happens when the days get longer, warmer, sunnier and far more conducive for driving old iron.
The streets come alive with style that hasn't been seen since Lyndon Johnson was a Vice President and the Beatles were playing the bar scene in Germany.
21st Century cars are a classic example of function over form.
