MICE IN YOUR CLASSIC CAR:MORE THAN A NUISANCE-IT'S A BIOHAZARD

mouse in trapMost car guys store their cars over the winter- more specifically, most car guys that live in areas with real winter. Then there are cars that have been stored in nice climates for extended periods of time.

In both cases, the biggest single threat to the car’s interior is a mouse problem. These little rodents can spell disaster for an otherwise pristine vehicle plus they can have a serious effect on your own health.

THE ULTIMATE CAR GUY'S PRESENT-THE BAD BOY BIG BLOCK 427 ZL-1

427 004-3Chevy is celebrating the 50th anniversary of their big block in 2009 and they came up with the ultimate birthday cake-a limited edition 427 ZL-1 created from the exact tooling that created this legend back in 1969.

This is Tim “the Tool man” Taylor territory- 'more power' on steroids. Chevy has limited production of this monster to 427.That translates into one motor built per cubic inch so this puts a huge premium on the historical significance of the engine.Chevy didn’t think that limited production was exclusive enough, so after these motors were done the ZL-1 tooling was retired forever.

That makes these 427 motors an automatic piece of automotive history-out of the crate.

Let the fun begin…

imgp8687Quite a number of old car guys like to retrofit their rides and this includes a set of headers. Headers help a motor breathe more efficiently and keep your car from sounding like a four-wheeled whiney nerd. They can make a deeper sound that would be right at home on a NASCAR track-but legal.

So the question is-do you want your car to sound neutered or do you want that “don’t mess with me” rumble to send a serious message on the street?
