The mid-70s were the ultimate laid-back pop music years and this song had to be the ultimate laid-back pop music song. “Moonlight Feels Right” by Starbuck is the kind of song that can drive you to the beach in less than 3 minutes “I’ll take you on a trip beside the ocean and drop the top at Chesapeake Bay”.

 Even if it’s 4 a.m. in the middle of a January blizzard. But it works a lot better in the month of July-when this song came out.

This  summer song from 1976 is a great antidote to the current July heat-head to a large body of water like Chesapeake Bay and get 70s cool...

Starbuck wasn’t around very long and there’s a convincing argument that this was their best song but one thing is really clear. This is an unabashed summer song. “Moonlight Feels Right” is a summer song that is so summer-centric that it doesn’t even need the word “summer” in the lyrics.
