SUMMER TUNES “All Summer Long” The Beach Boys Released : July 13 1964

The summer song season would not be complete without at least one tune from the boys who are truly summer icons:

The Beach Boys...

They coined the phrase “endless summer” as a descriptive title for one of their albums and the Beach Boys have embodied that philosophy as a fundamental part of their reason for musical existence...give or take the misdirected genius of Brian Wilson who got trapped into the surf punk musical hamster wheel and never managed to truly escape.

All musical historical critiques aside, the Beach Boys delivered a feel good summer sound that typically involved hot beaches, babes and cars and there is precious little wrong with that concept.

The main component of “All Summer Long” was the notion that "We’ve been having fun all summer long”, as the lyrics so clearly stated. The message is true every summer for those who use the fairest season to its best advantage.

And, at this late part of summer, it’s important to remember how great summer has been-with a little help from some Beach Boy friends and their 46 year old classic summer song.
