MY STAR CAR TUNES '100 IN A 55' POP EVIL-- NOT EXACTLY DRIVER'S ED APPROVED
Released April 28 2009The 21st century music world needed a new car song and they got one with Pop Evil’s ‘100 in a 55’. The song is either about a 55 mph speed limit or a 1955 classic car, but 100 mph showing on the speedometer works either way in a ‘disaster waiting to happen’ sense.
The song is about heartache behind the wheel, but the real issue is a heartbroken young driver behind the wheel nudging 100 mph on the road; ’Goin’ 100 in a 55 and I don’t know why I’m still alive’. This has recipe for disaster written all over it and one can only hope that a 17 year old fan with girl trouble doesn’t get too wrapped up in the song. At least not on any road currently occupied by me.
Pop Evil leaves their listeners twisting in the wind with ‘100 in a 55’ because a small grain of common sense still exists which suggests that car and young driver might indeed arrive in one piece. One can only hope.
