PARIS IN THE SPRINGTIME... OR PARIS HILTON...WHICH ONE DO WE LOVE MORE?
There is a famous old song covered by the one-the only Francis Albert Sinatra called 'I Love Paris'. Frank went to the big nightclub in the sky before Paris Hilton gained fame as a very friendly heiress to hotel money, so we know he meant Paris France.
These days Paris Hilton has made a decent living as a party girl. Whenever the girl falls off the front page of the tabloids, she pulls another stunt that gets her back in the spotlight.
It's a brilliant marketing tactic.
The girl has no discernable talents beyond a genetic link to business success, but she is marketable in the rarified world of A- list party girls. We haven't seen her personal porno, but that is a good angle when you want to build a resume as a party girl.
Guys dig chicks with pornos on their resumes. However, her entire resume also includes drunk driving, jail time and foreign drug busts at world class events.
Paris Hilton is getting less attention than Paris France these days, so the girl needed some new headlines. And nothing says front page like a felony drug arrest in Sin City. Now Paris has re-polished her bad girl image-even if another drug bust was not in the cards as a stunt.
Paris Hilton probably understands that fame is a fleeting commodity-even for talented people. But most celebrities crash and burn when their bad behavior hits the front page. For Paris, her notoriety is her cash cow and every misstep makes for a happy heifer in her world.
Eventually Paris Hilton will fade from the spotlight when the public's appetite for her antics turns into chronic indifference. She will run out of reasons to interest people beyond the risk of long stretches in jail for future activities. She may want to ask OJ how things are working out in the Nevada penal system before she gets to that point in her celebrity career.
Anyhow, here's Frank's take on a much classier Paris.
