YET ANOTHER DOG SHOOTS MAN STORY-WHEN WILL THEY LEARN?

A careless moment with a .22 rifle provided Fido with motive and opportunity in New Zealand this week.

A dog stepped on a loaded rifle and wounded its owner in the derriere.

It was a classic pain in the ass moment for the dog (and rifle) owner.

The rifle was used to terminate a pig with extreme prejudice prior to the dog's use of the weapon. The situation behind the shooting was a little unclear, but local authorities have ruled out that the dog was the pig's best friend; thus eliminating a revenge motive for the mutt.

The dog is still not talking and police are not expecting him to make any statement in the future.

However, the entire incident appears to be a typical firearm accident as the wounded man thought that the gun was"not loaded"- a classic lose-lose defense that makes people look either really stupid or really dishonest.

The victim/owner's name has not been released so that one thin sliver of dignity could be left in the man's possession.
