SIX THINGS THAT WAITRESSES REALLY HATE...LESSONS FROM THE TRENCHES

One of the toughest jobs around is a waitress job. The job puts women on the frontlines of society, and sometimes the view is not that great. Most waitresses have seen the best and worst of human behavior if they have stuck around the business for any length of time.

Most customers are decent people, but good customers make less of an impression than obnoxious misfits who don’t quite make the grade as human beings.

Here are six examples of situations that waitresses really hate:

The husband or boyfriend that hits on them when the woman is at the table gets an even bigger score on the sleazy meter. Typically the guy’s wife or girlfriend gets mad at the waitress, even though the girl has less than zero interest in a chronic loser with no social skills and even less class.

The drunker they get the funnier they ain’t. “Oh Nurse!” is a very- very bad way to call a waitress to your table. Whistling a waitress over to your table is the one thing that is guaranteed to get her even angrier than mindless clichés like “Oh Nurse!”   

Rude and crude is rarely-check that never- an aphrodisiac for women, even if it is the last booze-driven act of desperation for lonely outcasts with a big bar tab and microscopic social skills.

The laws of gravity are not to blame for a hand that moves from a shoulder to a waist to an even lower position on a waitress’s anatomy. Expect to wear a tray full of drinks at some point with this ill-advised maneuver.

A table full of drunk, fussy and catty women is a tough part of the job- probably tougher than a table full of longshoremen in some cases. But the longshoremen tip better.
