"JUST ONE MORE THING AND THEN IT'S DONE": THE WAR CRY OF THE DELUDED CAR GUY
Well known philosopher Yogi Berra had it right because it really "ain't over until it's over". There are no better examples of this cold hard fact than a car project- even though many car guys are foolish enough to believe otherwise.
The end of a car project is really just a fake rabbit on a greyhound track and most car guys are like those plucky but dumb, skinny mutts who will never get to the fake rabbit, no matter how hard they try.
There is no finish line for car projects and there is no mouthful of fake rabbit for the dogs.
THE SECOND WEEKEND IN JUNE IS ALWAYS A MOST WONDERFUL TIME OF THE YEAR
Why is it that people who live close to a world famous tourist attraction fall into a sense of complacency and never visit the attraction?
I live within about a three hour window of Banff Alberta Canada and rarely visit the place.
TWIN PICKS: JERRY PICKS FIVE CARS THAT HE WOULD RESURRECTED...PS NONE OF THEM ARE JIM PICKS
An offshoot of the ID twin experience is the myth that you "have an ESP connection" with your sibling/clone.
Nothing could be further from the truth.
Jim picked five cars that he would like to see brought back in 2013 in this piece and I didn't disagree with his picks in the largest sense of the word "disagree". But I didn't feel a mental push to imitate his choices.
Sure, I liked them but I had different ideas about what five cars should be brought back in 2013.
DOGS IN CARS 2013: ROVER RIDING IN STYLE WITH HIS BEST FRIEND
There's no question that dogs are the most loyal mammals ever invented. Occasionally your dog like to get a little frisky with your favorite pillow-or left leg...but you can't fault his loyalty.
Your dog may like to mark their territory on the new rug milliseconds after the carpet guy leaves but his loyalty is unsurpassed.
NEVER UNDERESTIMATE ANYBODY UNDER 30: A NEW WAVE OF CAR GUYS AND GIRLS
The 2013 car show season has proven to be a pleasant surprise for us at MSCC. The shows are well-attended by a younger generation of young car guys and girls who are enthusiastic supporters of the car hobby.
There has been a youth movement afoot and we could not be happier to see the next generation embrace something as positive as the car culture.
Many of the vehicles at shows were built in an era long before the newer car guys and girls' parents were even old enough to date, let alone procreate and produce the new generation of car enthusiasts.
