AN OLDER DOG, AN OLDER CAR AND OLDER TWINS...A YEAR LATER

A few years ago, we came up with a great You Tube idea. We wanted to shoot a You Tube video with a big old mutt behind the wheel of a rough-looking old car.

Throw in a couple of rough-looking middle-aged identical twins and you have a very short movie.

A year ago in April we launched this masterpiece video-so far Hollywood hasn't called.

Probably because the second best player in the video was the 56 Dodge and the best actor by far had a fur coat, 4 legs and a tail.

APRIL 2010-A 1953 DESOTO LEAVES THE BARN AND FINDS THE ROAD AGAIN

Craig Maize was not a typical owner for a 1953 Desoto four door sedan when we met him at a car night. He is a twenty-something guy who would look right at home behind the wheel of a modern tuner car. The reality is that Craig really wasn’t looking for a car from several decades before he was born, but that is how it turned out for a young owner and his old car.

Craig knows his way around anything with an engine, so the simple flathead inline 6 was a minor challenge to his talents.

The car had not been run for a very long time, but careful preparation brought the old-timer back to life quite quickly under Craig’s approach.

APRIL 2010-THE ORIGINAL SMART CAR: A 1958 BMW ISETTA STEALS THE SHOW

A 1958 BMW Isetta is a very unusual vehicle and, up until the emergence of the Smart Car, it was not something that you see every day. The design of the Smart Car was clearly ripped off from the Isetta, but there is only one original, and that would be the underpowered and unique BMW Isetta.

Trevor and Pat Makarowski are the proud owners of a 1958 Isetta, and it was a group decision. Pat was immediately attracted to the unusual looks of the car, so she was very interested in owning one. Thus a battle faced by many car guys (a wife’s approval) was won before it even started.

Pat loved the car.
